Cho Chang, Ravenclaw
Harry Potter

time completed: Middle of November 2001
hours spent: 10+
worn at: Harry Potter Movie Premier, Nov. 2001, AWA 2002

Why I chose to make this costume:
Ever since I was introduced to the world of Harry Potter a couple of years ago, I've been a loyal follower of the novels. When the movie was about to come up, my friend Meg suggested for us to make the uniforms and attend the premier in them. I chose Cho Chang from Ravenclaw as my character.

How I made this costume:
Most of this costume is store bought but we did our best to be as accurate as possible. We were lucky and found gray v-neck sweaters and pleated skirts, as well as appropriate socks and shoes. The ribbons were stitched on the neck and bottom of the sweaters, and we made the ties by individually stitching ribbons together. It was a painstakingly long process but worth it in the end. We also made black robes, lined and trimmed, with each houses' patch satin-stitched on.
For the Risingsun.net photoshoot I bought the official Ravenclaw scarf and did my hair similar to Cho's in the movie. Cat let me borrow her Alivan wand and HP broom!

My thoughts on this costume:
I'll have to admit that it was SO fun being groupies at the movie premier. It's such a simple and comfortable outfit. I also loved taking pictures with other Hogwarts students and being goofy together.
