Kurai
Angel Sanctuary

time completed: Beginning of February 2001
hours spent: 20+
worn at: Katsucon 2001, Ani-magic 2001
Awards: Best in Show at Katsucon 7

Why I chose to make this costume:
This costume was constructed for the Angel Sanctuary-performance that my friends and I put up for the Costume Contest at Katsucon. The design for this wedding dress of Kurai's has allot of stage-presents and was therefore the best choice for the performance. I also simply adore the design!

How I made this costume:
I sewed the skirt and underskirt first and then made the top out of vinyl. The hat and veil were created by me after that, as well as the accessories like a bow in the back, a ribbon for my right arm, petticoat and extensions for the styled white wig.

My thoughts on this costume:
This is a really pretty, but uncomfortable costume. I get really hot in it after a little while because of the vinyl and the wig. But I always enjoy wearing it because it is very elegant and I love many parts of it. The pictures were all taken in beautiful Savannah, GA
