Why I chose to make this costume:
I am very fond of Macross Plus, and Sharon Apple has to be one of my all-time favorite characters. For AX 2000 I did a poster-sized painting of her in the Idol Talk version and was inspired to make that costume for the con.

How I made this costume:
I bought a short wet-look black dress and altered the top part completely. I got a shoulder-long orange wig and styled it into Sharon's hair, then I painted metal rings and attached to my boots and gloves. The eyebrows were pipe cleaners that I cut and glued on with spirit gum. The jewel on my forehead was a painted button.

My thoughts on this costume:
This was probably my first sexy costume, how fun to think back on. To my surprise I was recognized quite a bit which I blame on the crazy hair and eyebrows :).
